An exciting additional and immediate Indonesian outreach opportunity has been presented to Musicianaries-PLEASE PRAY-We are thrilled about this new adventure the Lord has for us!
A quick response is needed! We depart the USA on March 17thand we invite you to participate in helping to send us and to help feed the indigenous Toraja people in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

EMERGING OPPORTUNITY:  We just sent out our latest "snail mail" newsletter to you (on our "land mail" list) sharing about our upcoming trip to Australia and Indonesia this March 17-April 4.  Our sponsor in Australia has asked us to postpone the outreach there until later this year, which has now allowed for more time in Indonesia.  YASKI Radio (Christian Radio Network all over Indonesia), has been asking us for some time now to partner with them and do a missionary outreach into an indigenous area called Tana Toraja located on the central Indonesian island province of Sulawesi.

I first visited Toraja land some 22 years ago, and have always felt that the Lord would let me return.  Besides the Toraja village outreaches, we will also be doing 2 major city concerts with 2 excellent Indonesian Christian artists from Jakarta that we have worked with before, Lord willing, trying to reach different economic & social people in the area.

Because of recent earthquakes in Indonesia, crop failures, flooding, dreadful economy, etc. we will be purchasing food packets (pictured below), which include cooking oil, salt, milk, soy sauce, etc. in Jesus' Name for the villagers in the area, somewhat similar to what we have done in Cambodia with only rice.  Each food packet costs $5.50 and hopefully will last a small family for 3-4 weeks.  Jimmy Widiarta, our host at YASKI Radio has asked if we can provide for 200 familes.  That's just one village of hundreds there.  He said that we can impact more villages for Jesus if we can bring more food packets to provide for the needs of the people-just like we have done in Cambodia.

PRAISE REPORT:  A $2,000.00 matching grant challenge has been offered by one of our donors--that means that when you give $10, they will match it equally with $10, $50 for $50, $500 for $500, etc., up to $2,000!

So the really fun part about all of this is going to be seeing HOW the Lord provides all of the finances needed for this additional outreach.  We estimate that this additional outreach including airfares, internal transportation, musical and sound equipment rental, translators, vehicle rentals, housing and food for the team, and initial 200 food packets, etc. to be $10,000.00.  This seems huge (in earthly terms) when it was not something that we had budgeted at the beginning of the year as part of our original plans to Asia this spring.  It is an "added" strategic opportunity, which we feel after much prayer and confirmation; we simply cannot and must not pass up. 

THIS IS WHERE I'M GOING TO BE BOLD AND ASK YOU TO PRAY ABOUT ANSWERING THIS INVITATION TO PARTNER WITH US for this exciting adventure to Toraja land-to bring the Gospel to people who understand how to worship-they all just don't know WHO to worship--yet.  And the WHO of course, is Jesus Christ.

So there it is...  We have a great opportunity set before us.  Here is a prayer that Jimmy sent to me by email when I told him that we are standing in faith for the Lord to provide for this Tana Toraja outreach through His people-that is you-the ones the Lord has laid on my heart to send this email to:

"Brother Bobby, let me pray for it.
Father in heaven, you already give us opportunity to serve people in Tana Toraja. You already open the field with giving us key person--Bobby--who can let us spread gospel through music concert, you again who will provide us what we need. Please put the same heart to Bobby's [supporters], so they can support Bobby to do this hard and good work. I know Lord, for me and Bobby it's not so easy to see it but what I know is you are our mighty God who will do with your way. You know the best for us. You know how long Tana Toraja wait for this moment, this is your time to make revival there. I ask your Holy Spirit work forward before us to prepare and to touch your people there. In the name of our might God, Jesus Christ I pray. Amen."
